CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – In this edition of Pet of the Week, we were introduced to two Chihuahuas, Bruno and Popper. Lee Chambers, Manager of Marketing and Communication at Dakin Humane Society, and Emily Potter, Gift Processor, told us all about Bruno and Popper and about other events going on at Dakin.
Bruno and Popper were brought to Dakin because their family was experiencing economic hard times. These two have lived together for many years and they’re what we call “pair bonded,” so we want them to go to their new home together as well. They are a 2-Fur-1 adoption deal, which means you pay one fee, and you get both dogs. This pair is best suited to an adults-only home. If you already have a dog, bring them down to the Springfield Adoption Center to meet these 2 before you proceed with the adoption, just to be sure everyone gets along. If you already have cats, let our adoption counselors know, and they’ll let you know how to slowly introduce Bruno and Popper for the best outcome. Both of these charmers are quite shy, but can be coerced with treats. They’re not high energy, and love a comfy couch for cuddling. It’s best if their new person or family has some experience with dogs to help them gain some confidence and settle nicely into their new family life.
