HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – A section of Dwight Street in Holyoke has been dedicated to a public official.
Susan Egan worked for the City of Holyoke for more than 40 years, and was a city clerk for more than two decades. Egan passed away in January of 2015, but the City is making sure that her memory and legacy continues to live on.
The Holyoke City Council voted unanimously to name a portion of Dwight Street “Susan Egan Way.” The area runs right by City Hall, between High Street and Heritage Street.
A ceremony was held Wednesday to unveil the new street name, and to give members of the community a chance to express their gratitude for her years of dedicated service.
