Egremont was hit by microburst, National Weather Service confirms

EGREMONT, Mass. (WWLP) – The National Weather Service says that part of the Berkshire County town of Egremont was hit by a microburst as severe storms moved through the area Sunday morning.

According to the NWS, winds of 85 miles per hour came down a path of about three miles in length between 7:55 AM through 8:05 AM. The path started from Hillsdale, NY into Egremont, MA.

The microburst snapped several trees damaging some homes, power lines and a boat dock. No one was injured in either Egremont, MA or Hillsdale, NY.

The NWS made their announcement Tuesday afternoon, after analyzing radar imagery, damage photos, and media reports.
