WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The countdown to the Big E is on, and this year’s fair is expected to be bigger than ever before, celebrating the history of the Great New England State Fair.
The President of the Eastern States Exposition, Gene Cassidy, told 22News this year’s fair will give residents a look at how the Big E has developed and transformed over the past century. “We’ll have a large focus of the history of the fair in the Young Building. It will give people a chance to look back.”
The Big E starts next Friday, September 16th, and runs through Sunday, October 2nd. A centennial exhibit will be on display in the Young Building, and will include pictures, memorabilia, and artifacts from The Big E over the past century.
