WILBRAHAM, Mass. (WWLP) – A multi-car crash on Boston Road (Route 20) in Wilbraham caused a section of the busy roadway to shut down for a time early Wednesday afternoon.
Wilbraham Police Capt. Timothy Kane told 22News that around 12:30, the driver of a large pickup truck lost her brakes as she drove westbound down Boston Road at the entrance to the Big Y supermarket. That driver veered into the eastbound lane, and ended up striking three cars that were stopped at the traffic light there.
There were no obvious injuries, Kane said, but a woman and an infant were checked out as a precaution. Boston Road eastbound was shut down for a time as police investigated the accident.
One woman who works on Boston Road told 22News customers consistently face delays. Lori Malloy of Monson said, “It’s always a problem. People are always getting stuck in traffic coming to our office because there’s an accident.”
Wilbraham Police are still looking into what led up to the crash. No charges have been filed at this time.
