(CNN) – Jerrica may is happy to be enjoying this Labor Day with daughter Lily, the holiday could have been a lot more stressful, “It is a debit card and yes but it also a credit card and it’s linked up to all the money.
She didn’t realize she lost it at Kahuna bar and grille until a deputy called her, “They told me that they had my card in custody and they wanted to know if Mr. Brendan Duffy was authorized to use it and I said he most certainly is not!
Jerrica and her niece, Trinity Dodier, out with her that night couldn’t help but laugh they they found out how Duffy got caught.
The arrest affidavit spells out the whole bizarre encounter. It says early Saturday morning, Duffy flagged down a Pinellas deputy driving on Gandy Boulevard asking him if he could charge his cell phone to call Uber.
The deputy stopped and Duffy made himself comfortable on a bench, whipping out a bunch of credit cards
“If I had a pocket full of someone else’s cars I definitely would not pull that pocket out,” but Duffy did! The deputy’s keen eye noticed the cards not in his name and arrested him.
“My card was actually kept safe. My money was kept safe,” Trinity is especially thankful, she just moved from a small town and begged her Aunt to go out, never expecting this in the big city, “You don’t really hear about a lot of stuff like that in Wyoming. Then coming here and going out like the first time ever and that happens your mind is kind of blown.”
Jerrica’s surprised too and she couldn’t help sharing this message to Duffy, “Dude! Use the cops to charge your phone all the time (laughs) cause you just saved us all and we appreciate that.”
