BOSTON (AP) — A Massachusetts State Trooper has been taken to the hospital after his cruiser was rear-ended by a driver who was charged with driving drunk.
The trooper was in his marked vehicle at the scene of a two-car crash on Interstate 93 south in Boston at about 1:30 a.m. Tuesday when he was struck from behind. He was taken to Tufts Medical Center, but is expected to survive. His name was not made public.
The driver of the vehicle that struck him was identified as 21-year-old Lily Reid, of Quincy. She was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol and failure to move over for an emergency vehicle. It could not be determined if she has a lawyer.
