Shots fired on Nottingham Street in Springfield, no victim

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The holiday weekend shooting violence has apparently spilled over into the work week in Springfield.

Police were investigating an incident where several shots were fired in Springfield’s Liberty Heights neighborhood Tuesday night.

Springfield Police Lt. Mark Rolland told 22News that police found seven shell casings on Nottingham Street, after the gunfire just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

There were no victims, and no suspects identified, Lt Rolland said.

Tuesday night’s shooting follows at least seven different shootings in Springfield over the long Labor Day holiday weekend.
