FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) — A Framingham State University police officer has been banned from the Massachusetts school’s campus and now faces several criminal charges after being accused of inappropriate conduct.
Framingham police say the officer was charged with open and gross lewdness, wanton and lascivious conduct and witness intimidation.
University spokesman Dan Magazu says FSU police were alerted to the officer’s unspecified inappropriate conduct around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
It’s unclear if the incident involved a student. The officer was immediately relieved of his duties.
A statement from the university said Framingham State will continue to hold its officers “to the highest standards” and that the safety of the school community is a top priority.
The incident remains under investigation.
