SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Drivers in Springfield’s Old Hill neighborhood should expect some detours during the day on Wednesday.
Joyce Mulvaney, spokesperson for the Springfield Water and Sewer Commission, told 22News that private contractors working for the City will be replacing pipes on Pendleton Avenue. This will cause the closure of Pendleton Avenue between Orleans Street and Hancock Street, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M.
Those hoping to travel westbound on Pendleton Avenue will be detoured down King Street and Walnut Street. Eastbound traffic will be diverted onto Orleans Street and Tyler Street. Only a single lane will be allowed through at a time at the intersection of Pendleton Avenue and Hancock Street, and police will be directing traffic there.
Only local traffic will be allowed down Pendleton Avenue while the work is going on.
