Quincy man arrested for allegedly shoplifting in Ware

WARE, Mass. (WWLP) – Ware Police arrested a man from Quincy after he was allegedly caught walking out of a Walmart with stolen items.

According to the Ware Police Facebook page, around 7:50 p.m. on September 2nd, officers received a call about a person driving a grey Nissan Altima erratically down Palmer Road, and turned into the Walmart parking lot.

When the officers arrived, police said they found the driver of the Nissan, 41-year-old Derrick Mettig, as he was walking out the Walmart. Police later found out that Mettig had allegedly stolen several items from Walmart.

Mettig was arrested and charged with Shoplifting $100+ by Asportation.
