SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Mass Appeal) – It’s Childhood Obesity Awareness Month, and we are starting a series focusing on different areas of preventing obesity in children, and helping overweight children lose weight in a healthy way. We will focus on healthy and delicious food that kids are sure to love, and simple exercises to get kids moving. But we start with the an overview of childhood obesity. We talked to Dr. Chrystal Wittcopp of the Pediatric Weight Management Program at Baystate Health about what it is, and how we can get our kids living a healthy lifestyle.
