Shooting near Worthington & Armory Street in Springfield

Officers briefly closed down part of Worthington and Armory Street

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – There was a shooting on Worthington Street in Springfield Sunday night where a man was wounded.

Springfield Police Captain Brian Keenan told 22News the shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the area of 942 Worthington Street.

Keenan said two witnesses were able to wave down an ambulance after a man was shot, taking him to the hospital.

Officers briefly closed down part of Worthington and Armory Street, gathering a number of shell casings, while discovering two vehicles has also been damaged.

Police are now looking for a silver Hyundai-type vehicle with possibly three black men.
