HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Hartford police say a city employee is facing charges in connection with a July 9 shootout in a convenience store parking lot.
Stacy Asberry was arrested Thursday. He is charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit and related crimes. It’s unclear whether Asberry has a lawyer who could comment.
The 31-year-old Asberry is currently employed by the city Department of Public Works. He was placed on unpaid leave following his arrest.
Police responded to the convenience store the evening of July 9 for a reported shooting.
Video surveillance footage showed two suspects exchanging gunfire in the parking lot.
Police say one shooter was later identified as Asberry. No injuries were reported.
