State Police Airwing used to find missing person in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Pittsfield and Massachusetts State Police worked together to find a person who went missing in the woods Monday afternoon.

According the Pittsfield Police Facebook page, the department received a report of “an endangered adult who had wandered into the woods” near the eastern area of Pontoosuc Lake.

Pittsfield requested more resources to find the missing person, which included Pittsfield Police off-road motorcycles, 2 Pittsfield Fire ATVs, State Police troopers, the Williamstown Police Dept. police dogs, and AIR3 from the State Police Airwing.

Police said the person was found around 7:00 p.m. in good condition and was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation. No other information was made available about the person.
