Park ranger accused of planting camera inside bathroom

Raymond F. McKinnon of Hyde Park charged

MILTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A DCR park ranger has been arrested, for allegedly recording his female coworkers as they used a bathroom at a state beach. Thirty year-old Raymond F. McKinnon was taken into custody Saturday by state troopers at his home in the Hyde Park section of Boston.

According to State Police Media Relations, a woman who was using the unisex employee bathroom at the Houghton’s Pond bathhouse in Milton, noticed the flashing green light of a pen camera. The camera was hidden inside some stacked milk crates that were filled with supplies.

DCR employees turned over the device to state police, who reviewed the video recordings and conducted interviews. Their investigation led them to suspect McKinnon had planted the camera. They do not believe at this time that anyone else was involved.

McKinnon is now facing multiple counts of secretly electronically videotaping, photographing, or surveilling persons in a state of partial nudity. He is also charged with possession of and placing a device to violate wiretap laws. He was held on $50,000 cash bail and scheduled for arraignment Monday in Quincy District Court.
