GREENWICH, Conn. (AP) – Callers who are put on hold at Greenwich Town Hall in Connecticut can now enjoy some Mozart, compliments of the high school’s string ensemble.
The collaboration emerged out of a search for alternatives to the music that came with a new phone system. It had received negative reviews, with some calling it canned and distorted.
The town’s information technology director, Tom Klein, reached out to Greenwich High School Orchestra Director Bethany Fuscaldo with the idea of using one of their performances.
The recording was made during a March concert at the school’s new performing arts center.
Fuscaldo says she is thrilled for the students’ work to have such exposure in the town.
