Woman, dog injured after van rolled over into I-91 median

WHATELY, Mass. (WWLP) – A 29-year-old New Hampshire woman was rushed to Baystate Medical Center and her dog was taken to a Franklin County animal hospital after a single vehicle crash in Whately, Friday afternoon.

Massachusetts State Police Sgt. John Ruyffelaert told 22News the woman’s southbound van ended up on its roof in the median near the Whately/Deerfield line at 4:00 p.m. Friday. “She was complaining of neck and back injuries, and was taken to Baystate,” Sgt. Ruyffelaert said.

Sgt. Ruyffelaert said the woman’s dog also suffered some unspecified injuries, and was brought to the Deerfield Animal Hospital.

State Police closed one lane of traffic on I-91 while the wreckage was loaded onto a platform truck.
