(WCNC) Donald Trump’s former North Carolina Campaign Director cut all ties to the campaign Thursday after he was named in a lawsuit alleging he pulled a gun on another Trump staff member.

Earl Phillips denies the incident, but former campaign employee Vincent Bordini says he was alone in a car with Phillips when he pulled a gun on his knee for no reason.

“I asked him what he was doing and he withdrew it and that was it,” Bordini says.

Bordini says he told Trump campaign officials what happened, expecting them to take care of the situation, but they did nothing.

He did not file a police report. He explains, “If you call the police for something like that and you are working for a national campaign, it becomes public right away and I figured the campaign would handle that internally.”
