Plane went off runway at Northampton Airport

Pilot unhurt in incident, but rental plane sustained some damage

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) – A plane went off the runway at Northampton Airport late Thursday morning.

Vincent Melling, Assistant Manager of Northampton Airport, told 22News that a pilot of a rented two-passenger plane was doing practice runs, when something went wrong and the plane went off the runway.

The pilot was not injured, but the aircraft did sustain some damage to its nose. Melling said federal and state agencies were notified.
