Four UMass home games set for national distribution

The new plan will offer fans viewing options and bring more exposure to the UMass football program.

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) – The University of Massachusetts (UMass) Athletic department announced plans Thursday for the national a digital distribution of four home football games in 2016.

American Sports Network (ASN) is partnering with NESN to distribute the games against Mississippi State, Tulane and Louisiana Tech. Information on the game with Boston College will be announced at a later date.  All four games will be available to watch on the ESPN3 platform and the WatchESPN app.

The UMass MInutemen’s 2016 football season opener will be played on Saturday, September 3 against the Florida University Gators, on the SEC network, the first of their nationally televised contests.  Plans for televising the remaining games will be released at a later date.
