Subcommittee to review proposed apartment complex in Chicopee

600 apartments are proposed for Cabotville Industrial Complex

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Chicopee City Council met Tuesday night, and decided not to vote on a special permit a developer needs to turn an old cotton mill into an apartment complex.

New York-based SilverBrick, LLC signed a purchase-and-sale agreement for the Cabotville Industrial Complex. They want to turn it into 600 apartments and 200,000 square feet of commercial space.

Lee Pouliot, the Director of the Chicopee Planning Department, told 22News instead of granting permit approval, the council referred the proposal to its zoning subcommittee. Pouliot said a public hearing will be held later this month.
