Nearly 3″ of rain in parts of western Massachusetts

Totals ranged from 0.83" in Chicopee to as much as 2.89" in Agawam

(WWLP) – A soaking rain came down across western Massachusetts Tuesday morning, providing some much-needed relief for parched plants and lawns. Here are some rainfall totals from across the region, as reported by trained weather spotters and over amateur radio:

Berkshire County:

  • Lanesborough – 2.85”
  • Clarksburg – 2.25”
  • Pittsfield- 0.88″

Franklin County:

  • Sunderland – 1.32”
  • Rowe – 1.17”
  • Orange – 1.02”

Hampden County:

  • Agawam – 2.89″
  • West Springfield – 2.74”
  • Springfield- 2.00”
  • Hampden- 1.90”
  • Westfield- 1.47”
  • Chicopee (Westover)- 0.83”

Hampshire County:

  • Worthington- 1.55”
  • Amherst- 1.18”
  • Belchertown- 1.01”
