ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WWLP) – Members of the State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Sections, Attleboro Police Department and federal agents located and arrested one of the Massachusetts Most Wanted sex offenders at a residence on Falmouth Street in Attleboro Tuesday morning.
Caled M. Donatiu, 32, of Everett, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Malden and Salem District Courts for failing to register as a sex offender and failing for provide DNA. Donatiu will be arraigned on Tuesday in Wrentham District Court.
Donatiu has been classified by the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board as a High Risk, Level 3 sex offender.
In 2008, Donatiu was convicted in Essex Superior Court for indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 for a sexual assault in Salem. Donatiu and an accomplice followed an 11-year-old girl for several blocks as she walked home. Then they grabbed the victim and forced her down an alley where she was assaulted against a building.
Witnesses called police as the attack was going on and responding officers arrested Donatiu and his accomplice as they ran from the scene.
Donatiu is the fifth of the six most recent additions to the Massachusetts Most Wanted list to be caught.
