2 overnight car accidents in Springfield

The accidents happened between midnight and 1 a.m. on Tuesday

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police were busy with two accidents between midnight and 1 a.m. on Tuesday

The first accident was on Chestnut Street between State and Edwards Streets.

Springfield Police Lt. Richard LaBelle told 22News there were no serious injuries when one car rear ended another sending it into a parked car.

About a half hour later three people went to Baystate Medical Center after a car accident at Sumner Avenue and White Street.

Springfield Police Lt. Richard LaBelle told 22News a car ran a red light and hit another car. One of those cars also hit a utility pole.
