Super Small Saturday held at Dakin Humane Society

The 50% reduction in adoption fees proved to be a good incentive

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Saturday was bargain day at the Dakin Humane Society animal shelters in Springfield and Leverett.

During Super Small Saturday, adoption fees for rabbits and guinea pigs were reduced by 50%. Dakin’s Eliza Fischer told 22News, the agency had taken in quite a few of the small animals. Fischer said it’s important to make certain the rabbits and guinea pigs are going to a good home, “We talk with them about what they’re looking for, the care of the animals, we do want verification of what type enclosure they’re going to be living in at home.”

The 50% reduction in adoption fees proved to be a good incentive. New homes were found for dozens of these smaller animals.
