SEATTLE, Washington (WWLP) – At least three people are dead after a gunman opened fire at a house party near Seattle, Washington. Police say the gunman arrived at the gathering of about 20 young adults when he walked through the house to a fire pit in the backyard and opened fire.

The gunman then climbed onto the roof of the house and fired more shots. Three people were killed and another person was injured.  Police arrested the suspect three counties away.

Jennifer Gregerson, Mayor of Mukilteo, explained, “Our community has suffered a great loss tonight. There were many young people who saw and heard things that no one should ever experience. I hope that we can all lift them up in our thoughts and give them the space to mourn and grieve and begin the difficult process of recovery.”

Party-goers say they knew the gunman, and that he and one of the victims had broken up last week. Authorities have not released the identities of either the victims or the shooter.
