Car incinerated in Springfield early Saturday morning

Springfield firefighters battled the flames for about 30 minutes

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A 22News viewer was in the right place at the right time Saturday morning. They took pictures of a car on fire in Springfield’s Bright wood neighborhood.

It was one o’clock in the morning on Washburn Street, not far from the Connecticut River and the North End Bridge.

The car was still on fire when our 22News crew got there.  Springfield firefighters battled the flames for about 30 minutes. It’s not clear what caused the fire or if it was intentionally set.
