Teen jumped, beaten and robbed on the street in Springfield

The victim was taken to the hospital for a cut on his head

SPRINGFIELD, Mass (WWLP) – Springfield Police were using a specially-trained dog to track three attackers who beat and robbed a teenage boy on Boston Road in Pine Point, Friday night.

“The victim was taken to the hospital for a cut on his head,” Springfield Police Captain Robert Strempek told 22News. “They took his cell phone and his wallet.”

The teen told police he was attacked by three unknown assailants in front of a convenience store on the 400-block of Boston Road, around 10:00 pm Friday.

Captain Strempek said the teen was going to the hospital, but he was expected to be okay.
