WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – There was a large police presence on South Boulevard in West Springfield this Friday morning.

West Springfield Police Capt. Paul Connor told 22News that officers are serving a search warrant.

In a statement sent to 22News Homeland Security Investigations spokesperson Shawn Neudauer said, “Special agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the FBI were conducting law enforcement operations in the West Springfield area earlier today (Friday) with members of the West Springfield Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police. However, as the matter pertains to an on-going investigation, there is nothing further for public comment at this time.”

Investigators were at 119 South Boulevard.  West Springfield records show that Kim Champiney owns the home.  We also know that a level 3 sex offender, Alexander Joseph Germaine lists this house as his home address.  22News spoke with Germaine who told us this investigation has nothing to do with him.

Our 22News crew on South Boulevard could see police rummaging through boxes, and setting up boxes marked “Evidence Homeland Security.”

22News will continue to cover the story, and will bring you the latest information when it becomes available.
