‘Innovation Night’ in Springfield held to boost leadership

Collaborators want to promote workforce readiness at any age

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Local college students and collaborators held a networking event in Springfield, Thursday, to promote entrepreneurship.

The Innovation Night event at the UMass Springfield Center in downtown Springfield focused on innovation in science, technology, engineering and math. People of all ages were given the opportunity to learn how to boost their competitiveness in STEM skills and leadership.

Collaborators said they want to promote workforce readiness at any age. “We want to inspire all people to learn more about STEM, innovation, data science…these topics, so they can see where the world is going,” said Janine Fondon of Unityfirst.com.

Event coordinators hope their programs will make participants more valuable in any industry so that they can navigate to the next level.
