LUDLOW, Mass. (WWLP) – An RV fire caused delays on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Ludlow around midday Thursday.

The fire happened just after Exit 7 on the westbound side. The entire westbound side of the highway was temporarily closed, but the left lane was later opened up.

As of 12:30, traffic was backed up through Ludlow and Wilbraham, all the way back to the Palmer town line. There were also delays on the eastbound side from the Chicopee/Ludlow line.

The RV has since been cleared away, and traffic is now moving smoothly in the area. There were no injuries in the fire, State Trooper Nicole Morrell said.
