4th sex offender on Massachusetts Most Wanted list arrested

Villegas was convicted back in 2003 for rape in Worcester County

BOSTON (WWLP) – Police have arrested a fourth man from Massachusetts Most Wanted Sex Offender list, Thursday afternoon; this time in New Jersey.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, 48-year-old Miguel Villegas was arrested around Noon Monday, while he was walking on Central Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. The New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force made the arrest.

Villegas was booked at the Newark Police station and will be held in a county lockup until his arraignment as a fugitive from justice, state police said. He will eventually be brought back to Massachusetts to be arraigned and be processed as a sex offender.


Western Massachusetts Sex Offenders


State Police said Villegas was convicted back in 2003 for raping a 6-year-old in Worcester County. He was convicted with two counts of rape of a child, and single counts of indecent assault and battery on a child, dissemination of matter harmful to a minor, and open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior.

Police placed Villegas on the Most Wanted list on July 22nd, along with five other men. He is the fourth sex offender on the list to be arrested. The other three men arrested were Reggie C. Ellenwood in Boston, Scott A. Halle in Chelsea, and Pedro Munoz in Philadelphia.
