Springfield Police searching for bank robbery suspect

SPD: Suspect jumped over counter, stole money from drawer

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank Wednesday afternoon.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that the suspect walked into the TD Bank at 312 Boston Road, around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, and jumped over the counter. He implied he had a weapon, stole cash from the drawer and then jumped back over the counter to get away.

Sgt. Delaney said the man took off down Bay Street in a older model, tan sedan. The suspect is described as a black man, roughly 6’2″ with a medium build.
