WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The New England Food Truck Festival returned to the Eastern States Exposition grounds for its second year.
Last year, 19,000 people visited the festival, and coordinators told 22News that they hope even more people will come out to enjoy the festivities this year.
Alberto Gomes, a West Springfield resident, said: “We came here to check out the food trucks and I think it’s amazing. I mean there are so many types of food here, I really like it.”
This is the largest food truck festival throughout New England. There is something for everybody here, with 60 food truck vendors selling everything from donuts to french fries to oysters to burritos. The festival is offering much more than just food.
Jack Gustafson, a West Springfield resident, told 22News: “I am taking a tour of all these food trucks, I have had half a dozen samples so far.”
Mike Lukaszewicz, the event coordinator, said “We have tented food vendors like kettle corn, and we have live entertainment, we brought in tons games for kids, face painting, arcade trailers, corn hole, stuff like that.”
New England Scare Fest was just one of the many vendors that were there to offer entertainment for the whole family.
Alexander Binczyk, a New England Scare Fest representative, told 22News: “It’s a haunted house, it’s live music it’s a kid’s fest, parking lot party, we are engaging with food truck vendors today and giving out free tickets and having them take pictures with our guests, stuff like that.”
Despite temperatures reaching nearly 100 degrees, thousands of people came out to enjoy the festival. If you missed it Saturday, the festival continues Sunday from 12PM to 6PM. Admission is $5 and children 6 and under are free.
