Cleanup continues after severe storms rip through Western Mass

Multiple homes were damaged as debris was picked up by the wind

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – We had some storms roll through western Massachusetts on Saturday evening but the real damage was done on Friday.

Saturday night, the cleanup continues. Trees fell and power lines were knocked over as strong winds blew through Westborough. The national weather service says a tornado did not touch down, but the town was hit with 80-mile-per-hour straight line winds.

Multiple homes were damaged as debris was picked up by the wind and thrown across roofs and yards.  A lot of trees on the road, just people panicking. It’s going to take the whole weekend to clean up.”

No one was hurt.
