Fire forces family from their Springfield home

The Red Cross is helping them find temporary housing

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A family of four has to find someplace else to stay after a fire at their home Tuesday.

The fire started in the garage just after 2p.m. at 64 Wisteria Street.  Springfield Fire spokesman Dennis Leger told 22News, two adults and two children will have to find some place else to stay Tuesday night.

Leger said the fire caused about $30,000 in damage. Fire officials are working to figure out how it started. The Red Cross is helping the family.
