SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. – A South Hadley liquor store was issued a warning today after being accused of selling alcohol to minors.

The town’s select board issued the warning to Allery’s Liquor store on Newton Street.

South Hadley Police said a 17-year-old girl was working with the department on a sting operation in May. According to the police report, Allery’s cashier asked the girl for identification at the checkout line, but she said she didn’t have one. The clerk sold the liquor to her anyway.

South Hadley police conducted these alcohol compliance checks at 24 liquor stores, bars and restaurants, but Allery’s was the only one that failed.
