SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — A lot of people right now are walking around with their smartphones, looking for Pokémon.
The new mobile app game Pokémon GO by Nintendo has exploded in popularity.
It uses augmented reality to let players capture virtual Pokémon that appear to be in the real world.
But the game is off to a rocky start.
Law enforcement agencies across the country are warning that criminals have taken advantage of this game’s location aspects and lured people to remote places to rob them.
Officials also are warning that the game is easy to get lost in, and they are worried about people playing this game out in the world and walking into traffic or other hazardous obstacles.
