Heroin, cocaine & guns seized during Springfield drug bust

Detectives seized 1,292 bags of heroin, 2 firearms & cash

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Detectives from the Narcotics Unit raided two homes Thursday morning, after an extensive investigation into two suspected heroin dealers.

According to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, around 10:35 a.m., the two main suspects of the investigation were arrested during a traffic stop. He said the detectives then executed search warrants at 30 Allen Street and 284 Roosevelt Avenue, and arrested three more suspected drug dealers.

Below is a list of the five people arrested and the charges they’re now facing:

1) Emanuel Montano, 32-years-old of 284 Roosevelt Ave., Springfield

  • Trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium
  • Possession of Class A substance with intent distribute subsequent offense
  • Improper storage of firearm
  • Possession of firearm without FID card (two counts)
  • Possession of high capacity magazine/feeding device (three counts)
  • Possession of ammo without ID
  • Possession of firearm in commission of felony
  • Conspiracy to violate drug law
  • Receiving stolen property +250.00
  • Possession of Class B substance with intent to distribute subsequent offense

2) Edgardo Lopez, 21-years-old of 30 Allen St., Springfield

  • Distribution of Class A substance
  • Possession of Class A substance with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Class B substance with intent to distribute
  • Drug violation near school/park.

3) Steven G. Labonte, 36-years-old of 11 Huckleberry Dr., East Granby, CT

  • Possession of Class A substance

4) Jennifer Torres, 29-years-old of 30 Allen St., Springfield

  • Possession of Class A substance with intent to distribute
  • Possession of Class B substance with intent to distribute
  • Conspiracy to violate drug law

5) Nataly Dejesus, 30-years-old of 284 Roosevelt Ave., Springfield

  • Trafficking in heroin/morphine/opium
  • Possession of Class A substance with intent to distribute
  • Improper storage of firearm
  • Possession of firearm without fid card (two counts)
  • Possession of high capacity magazine/ feeding device (three counts)
  • Possession of ammo without ID
  • Possession of firearm in commission of a felony
  • Conspiracy to violate drug law
  • Receiving stolen property +250.00
  • Possession of Class B substance with intent to commit felony

Sgt. Delaney said the detectives seized the following drugs and firearms during the raid:

  • 1,292 bags of heroin
  • 4 grams of pure raw heroin
  • 7 Oxycodone pills
  • 3 bags powder cocaine
  • Glock 9 mm handgun loaded with 14 rounds ammo confirmed stolen from Windsor, VT
  • 30 round high capacity magazine loaded with 30 rounds ammo confirmed stolen from Windsor, VT
  • Ruger .38 caliber revolver loaded with 5 rounds ammo
  • 50 round high capacity magazine with rounds
  • 50 rounds of .38 caliber ammo
  • 50 rounds of .40 caliber ammo
  • 88 rounds of .380 caliber ammo
  • Packaging materials commonly associated with illegal narcotics sales, stamps, cutting agent, 3 scales
  • $1,527 cash.
