AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Multiple firefighters were called to the Crowley’s Barn and Stables in Agawam Tuesday night, to put out a massive fire.

Agawam Deputy Fire Chief BJ Calvi told 22News that the fire started around 9:20 p.m. inside the horse barn on Shoemaker Lane. Firefighters were able to evacuate all of the horses inside the barn except for one, who died in the fire. There were no reports of any other injuries.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating how the fire started.

When 22News got to the fire, the barn was engulfed in flames and seriously damaged. Shoemaker Lane was closed from Suffield Street while crews worked to control the fire. Also, the West Springfield and Longmeadow fire departments were called in to assist.

By Wednesday morning, nothing but metal fragments remained standing at the barn.
