SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Pyrotechnicians from Fireworks by Grucci and a crew from the Springfield Department of Public Works will begin to prepare for Star Spangled Springfield on Saturday, sponsored by MassMutual.
They will work all day preparing three flatbed trailers, which will be moved to the Memorial Bridge on Sunday.
The Memorial Bridge will be closed to all traffic, vehicular and pedestrian, to allow set-up for the Star Spangled Springfield fireworks display on Sunday at 11 p.m. and will reopen Monday around 11 p.m.
The fireworks display will include purple and silver waterfalls, smiley faces, star shells and USA shells. The largest shell is six inches. The display will be fired from a computer-generated script and will begin at 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
