No fireworks parking at Basketball Hall of Fame on the 4th of July

Sam's Sports Bar said they weren't concerned about it

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Riverfront Park in Springfield is the place to be for your 4th of July fireworks, but don’t expect to park in the Basketball Hall of Fame parking lot.

The management company is warning people that parking is only available for patrons conducting business. Colebrook Property Management Vice President Kevin Morin told 22News they’ll have extra security on duty Monday night.

Sam’s Sports Bar said they weren’t concerned about it. Gina Campiti, General Manager of Sam’s, explained, “We have a lot of parking here. We have the north parking lot. You park for Samuel’s on the south side in the south parking lot. And then there’s also garage parking downstairs.”

Kevin Morin told 22News, for the past 10 years, he’s never experienced a problem with parking on the 4th of July and people are good about leaving, when asked. He said they would be checking cars Monday night.
