Holyoke Care Center holds Graduation for young women with children

All 41 Care Center graduates say they'll balance going back to school with raising their children

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – Friday was graduation day for dozens of Western Massachusetts young mothers planning to attend college. The Care Center of Holyoke awarded diplomas for 41 young women with small children.

21-year-old Shauna Cyr of Chicopee told 22News, she’s grateful for the Care Center programs that help young women like her. “They have music, art and a whole bunch of things, I’m going to go to HCC in the fall, I’m pretty excited about it.”

Sandy Cyr, Shauna’s mom said, “It’s a great program I’m so proud of her, It’s a great program, they do everything for them you know.”

The Graduation took place on the ground of the Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke. All 41 Care Center graduates say they’ll balance going back to school with raising their children.
