SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield Narcotics Detectives had a busy Thursday, after they raided 3 homes and arrested 6 suspected drug dealers.
According to Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney, the drug raids took place at 37 Grove Street, 126 White Street, and 320 Oak Street. The raids were part of 3 separate investigations.
On Grove Street, detectives seized 29 grams of crack cocaine, $1,793 in cash, and paraphernalia to package and deal Crack, Sgt. Delaney said. 38-year-old Angel Vergara and 37-year-old Maritza Sanchez, both of Springfield, were arrested and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine and Distribution of Cocaine.
Then, on White Street, Sgt. Delaney said the detectives seized 158 grams of unbagged heroin, 79 bags of heroin, and a semi-automatic handgun. 39-year-old Juan Carlos Rivera, 68-year-old Felicita Ayala, and 25-year-old Carlo E. Perez-Gilmore, all from Springfield, were arrested and charged with Trafficking in Heroin, Possession of Heroin With Intent, and Carrying a Firearm in a Felony.
Lastly, on Oak Street, detectives seized 322 grams of cocaine, 346 grams of weed, 36 oxycodone tablets, 2 semi-automatic handguns with ammo, and drug paraphernalia, Sgt. Delaney said. 28-year-old Luis Antonio Ruiz, from the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana With intent to Distribute, Weapons during a felony, Ammo, and Possession of Oxycodone With Intent to Distribute.
