SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police closed a section of Union Street, Tuesday night, after a water main break near the corner Main Street in Springfield’s South End. By Wednesday morning, that stretch of road has been reopened.
Springfield Police Lt. Mark Rolland told 22News that water started coming up through the road surface a little after 10:00 p.m. Tuesday. The water was still coming up about 40 minutes later.
Union Street was closed between Main Street and East Columbus Avenue, but it is now open.
