Enfield Police searching for suspect who crashed stolen pickup truck

When dogs searched for the suspect, they were unsuccessful

ENFIELD, Conn. (WWLP) – Police in Enfield, Connecticut are looking for a suspect who tried to avoid police after running a stop sign in a stolen truck early Tuesday morning.

According to an Enfield Police Department news release from Lt. Steven Kaselouskas, at 2:35 a.m. an officer saw the blue pickup truck driving east on Town Farm Road, when it failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Town Farm and Abbe Road. The officer tried to catch up with the truck as it was increasing its speed and passing another vehicle in a no passing zone.

Lt. Kaselouskas said that after the vehicle swerved off the road and hit a tree, the suspect got out of the truck and ran north into a wooded area. Enfield and Connecticut State Police dogs searched the area for the suspect, but were unsuccessful.

When Enfield officers spoke to the owner of the truck, they determined that it had been stolen from the owner’s business on Dust House Road sometime overnight.

Anyone with information regarding this stolen motor vehicle can contact the Enfield Police Department at (860) 763-8911.
