Ware man arrested for sexual assault in Connecticut

Jorim Gibeau was fugitive from justice from Connecticut

WARE, Mass. (WWLP) – Connecticut State Troopers traveled to Belchertown on Tuesday to arrest a 31-year-old man from Ware accused of sexually assaulting a minor.

According to the Connecticut State Police Facebook page, Jorim Gibeau was being held as a fugitive from justice at the courthouse in Belchertown, when Troopers arrived to arrest him and take him to Troop I Bethany Barracks for booking.

On July 7, 2015 Troopers started to investigate Gibeau for allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old victim from Prospect, Conn., police said. As a result of the lengthy investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Gibeau from the Superior Court, but he had run away.

Gibeau was charged with the following:

  • Sexual Assault 1st degree
  • Risk of Injury to a Minor

He was held on $200,000 bond pending his court date at the Waterbury Superior Court.
