Local residents complete course on starting a business

Seminars were held over the last 3 weeks

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Latino Chamber of Commerce is doing its part to reduce unemployment by helping members of the community start their own business.

Several of tomorrow’s business leaders completed a course Wednesday night in how to start and manage your own business.

They met twice per week, over the last three weeks, learning about creating a business plan, marketing, and hearing from mentors who’ve already succeeded.

Luis Rosado of Springfield, who participated in the seminar, told 22News, “It brings a lot of knowledge from people that have that experience. Instead of doing something wrong multiple times, you’re able to learn what somebody did right one time, and keep continuing to refine the process.”

Rosado encourages other people to participate in these seminars, which are free if you join the Latino Chamber of Commerce.
