Pet Corner: Champ

Champ with Ellie

Breed: Domestic Short Hair
Age: 2 months old
Gender: Male
Color: Grey/White

Champ definitely lives up to his name! Just yesterday he ‘graduated’ from Nick’s Nursery, Dakin’s kitten intensive care unit, and has now become available for adoption. He was brought in to Dakin on June 9th and quickly diagnosed with bladder stones. This little fellow underwent surgery to remove his kidney stones, and is fine now, but must follow a special diet for his lifetime. His new adopters will need to be sure he gets ongoing veterinary care to ensure his health, but otherwise he’s a typical kitten in every way… full of kitten sass and sweetness! Come meet him at Dakin’s Springfield Adoption Center.

Nick’s Nursery Matching Funds Drive – Now Through July 1!
With warm summer days upon us, homeless and orphaned kittens, many underweight and sickly, are arriving at Dakin. More than 1,000 kittens will come through our doors in need of food, shelter, and medical care. Hundreds will receive critical treatment in Nick’s Nursery, Dakin’s kitten intensive care ward. We urgently need your help to ensure they all receive the care they need. And right now, your gift can go twice as far.  Jan and Bernadette Piepul of Springfield, the founding donors of Nick’s Nursery, have put forth a matching challenge–any donation made to Nick’s Nursery will be doubled until July 1. Your gift of $25 will provide $50 of funding to help kittens in need. Your gift of $100 will provide $200!
